Hearts, Bows & Baskets

This quilt is a super sized king quilt, made to cover and hang over the bed.  The customer is a delightful lady who is a garment seamstress.  She said she saw this pattern in a magazine and fell in love with it.   She decided she loved it enough to learn to piece and make it herself.   She did both piecing and applique work, a huge undertaking for a novice.  The results are fabulous.  I did stitch in the ditch on the pieced blocks with free motion hearts in the centers and in the basket blocks I outlined the applique and did background stippling.  The borders have the ribbons and bows outlined and free motion hearts added to the background.  This quilt measured almost 120 inches square!  Probably a record on my frame.
