Flannel Camp Quilt

Standard

Sometimes you get a quilt and don’t know the story behind it.  In that case, while I am quilting I make one up.  I received this quilt from Ohio made with a variety of flannels and didn’t have any background on the quilt top.  I did an edge to edge quilting pattern with spikes to give the quilt additional visual interest using a contrasting dark blue thread.  As I quilted, I imagined this quilt being used for camping and how many memories would be made with the quilt.  When the quilt was picked up, I found out that the quilt was made from the flannel shirts of the client’s father.  So the quilt already was full of memories and the client’s daughter was thrilled to have a memory quilt that reminded her of her father.
