What a fantastic use of blacks and whites. My favorite was the unexpected gold at the center of the log cabin. When I saw the quilt I knew it had to have a gold binding to tie it all together and after I suggested it, my client agreed. I used an edge to edge design that had lots of curves with a natural white thread. I knew the quilting would not show against the print of the fabrics so I purposely made it fade into the background. It’s been a lot of fun seeing a pattern that is over 150 years old done with contemporary fabrics. Seems like I have been quilting log cabin quilts fairly regularly but they don’t look at all alike!
