SWLAC

Standard

Did you know that I lead a monthly longarm club right here in the heart of New Mexico?  SouthWest LongArm Club or SWLAC meets monthly on the third Saturday morning at Ryan’s Sewing Store.

Each month I do a  new lesson/technique.  Upcoming Topics include  Ricky Tims Feathers, Judging Criteria for Competition Quilts, Zentangles, Water Soluable Thread, Pam Clarke Stencils, Piece as you Go with the Longarm, Choosing Battings, McTavishing, Longarm Applique, Fusible Threads, Hanging Sleeves, Quilt Marking Tools, Photographing Quilts, and much more.

I also teach (4) free motion fillers each month in the club and I have the students practice by drawing on a dry erase board.  My FMF notebook is full of ideas and the monthly handouts have become a great resource for the students.

We have a time of Sew & Tell, and a time of Gizmos & Gadgets and a lot of laughter.  We have had field trips to the local pantographs studio, Fiber Arts Fiesta, Spring Fling Quilt Show as well as virtual trips including Paducah 2013, AQS Phoenix 2014 and a virtual studio tour of club members sewing areas.

Criteria for joining include an interest in longarming and Quilt Fever!   Let me know if you are interested at Ideal.Stitches@comcast.net
