Just updated the Classes area of Ideal Stitches web page.  Lots of classes for summer and fall to suit the quilter in everyone!  Many classes fill up and go to waiting lists.  Please check out the class area of the website for current, upcoming and previous classes.

The April Quilt as You Go is full and will be a fantastic class.  My sample quilt in lavender, purple and black came out stunning and I can’t wait to show everyone how to use the acrylic templates and do a quilt as you go technique completely by machine.

Next month I am launching a new exciting Block of the Month~BOM with a Twist using many traditional techniques and patterns in new innovative ways.  As always, students pick their own colors and fabrics.  Mine with be bright, clear spring colors on white fabric.  I already have three layouts planned and students will pick their favorite for the 12 block sampler.  Class will be May through October.  The more challenging block will be done in class and one block will be demonstrated for HOME FUN.  (I can’t call it home work because sewing is so much fun!)  Each month door prizes are awarded for completed class and home fun blocks.

In May I will be offering a new Scrappy Quilt Class and Prairie Point Pillowcase Class. Details are in the current classes area of the web site.  In June I am thrilled to present a Free Standing Thread Painting class while in July I will be launching the first of many EQ7 classes.  Back by popular demand is my T-Shirt Class in August, just in time to make a gift quilt for the holidays.

I am continuing to teach longarm classes and I have an outstanding lineup of topics for the remainder of the year including Zentangle Quilting, Pam Clarke Stencils, Ricky Tims Feathers, Basics of Battings, Threadology, Photographing Quilts and more.

For more information or to sign up for classes you can email me at DandDThornton@comcast.net or at Ideal.Stitches@comcast.net

  1. I’m interested in your class “Tools for your long arm toolbox”. Will you be teaching this anywhere soon? I live in Corrales. Thank you. Jo Kobler
