This was a completion project. My client brought over the blocks that had been done in the 1930’s by her best friend’s mother. She commissioned me to finish the quilt so she could surprise her friend. I designed the layout and pieced the quilt top with sashing and set in triangles. I had two blocks left over that I was able to use as quilting labels on the back. The backing fabric is a 1930’s reproduction fabric while the fabrics in the blocks are all original fabrics. I ditch stitched the basket and flowers and then added feathers to the set in triangles and baskets. The background was stippled and the result was that the flowers puffed out slightly. It came out incredible!
