South West LongArm Club    

If you have purchased a long arm machine, than this is the club for you.  Although we feature the ABM Innova Longarm Machine, all long arm quilters are welcome.  Debbie Thornton will instruct you in a variety of longarm topics such as feathers, free motion techniques, ruler work, stencils, pantographs, custom quilting, thread painting, as well as innovative ways to use your longarm machine. Free Motion Quilting Class

Back by popular demand!  Learn how to free motion quilt including stippling using your home sewing machine.  Templates, marking, supplies, threads and free motion techniques covered.  You must have a working knowledge of your machine.  Class includes a brief overview of straight stitch quilting with a walking foot.  Don’t forget to bring your basic sewing supplies including your machine, free motion foot (also called darning foot), walking foot, disappearing ink or water soluble marker, an ink pen, colored thread of your choice (spool and bobbin), safety pins and quilter’s gloves (optional).  For those machines that do not drop their feed dogs, please bring the cover plate. Binding Class 1~~Basics  

Learn how easy it is to bind your quilt and get that unfinished object off your list.  The basics of straight quilt binding will be covered as well advanced binding techniques such as piped bindings, bias bindings and reversible bindings.  The class also includes instruction on finishing your binding by hand and machine. Binding Class 2 ~~ Advanced Bindings: Beyond the Basics   

Finish your quilt with a flourish!  Learn how to make advanced edge finishes on quilts including scalloped, notched, knife edge and wavy. Variations included rounded corners, square corners, pointed ear corners and ice cream borders. Prairie points can add pizazz to your quilting projects and it’s easier than you think.  Come learn continuous, nested and overlapping prairie point techniques. We will be making a pillowcase and incorporating this technique.
