Copper Woods

Magnificent embroidery of New Mexico woods and animals.  I quilted everything free hand so that every stitch went exactly where I wanted it.  I  outlined the embroidery, added a sky fill behind it, quilted leaves and pine cones in the sashing, and a complimentary pattern in the outer border.   I found a thread that matched the shine copper embroidery thread to quilt everything outside the blocks.   You will have to look closely on the photo to see the quilting, it was much more dramatic in person.  This spectacular quilt just needs to be a wall hanging in a cabin, don’t you think?
