I can’t wait for my upcoming quilt retreat in Northern New Mexico. The weather should be beautiful for hiking and seeing the changing of the colors. It’s always a great time to hang out with my Sewcializer quilt group and a good time for Ideal Stitches to take a break.
I am excited for my projects, not Ideal Stitches projects to be done this weekend. I have collected and assembled a quilt kit for Mrs. Chillingsworth Halloween Quilt. Somehow I doubt it will be quilted and bound by Halloween 2016 but I am confident that the quilt top will be completed and she can join Mr. Chillingsworth next year!
I also have all my 2 1/2 inch scraps to make a strip quilt. I use my scrappy strip quilts as charity quilts and I hold onto them until someone I know either has been diagnosed with cancer or is in the hospital. Then I can add snuggle fuzzy backing and a personal quilting design and have a get well gift that will warm them up!
I also have a kit with beautiful large blood red sunflowers. It’s going to be fabulous. We will see how far I get with the three projects.
So what if I come home with three completed quilt tops? They will go in the pile with the rest of my UQO (unquilted objects) I really hope to start quilting my UQO’s and have set a goal for one a quarter! But when I get home its time to kick it in high gear and get all the Christmas orders done so my UQO’s will have to wait until 2017.
Got to go pack! Sewing and clothes and snacks OH MY!
