This quilt was a surprise gift for the wife after her husband passed away suddenly.  It was a group effort by about a dozen women some of which had no sewing experience.  We came together for two work days to cut up the t-shirts, iron on stabilizer, finish cut the blocks and sashing pieces and sew the top together.   I took his favorite hawaiian shirt to make the backing and the frames around the labels.  Look closely and you can see hearts quilted throughout the quilt.   Amazingly we pulled off a get together on his birthday to give her the gift.  What a beautiful testiment from the ladies to give her a memory quilt that will blanket her in love.
