This is the final memory quilt made for his wife to commemorate 42 glorious years together. The broken lone star was made from his golf shirts and I had so many that I took the one that were not used on the front to make a huge stripe across the back of this 120 x 120 inch quilt. She told me that they traveled the Caribbean frequently and so I chose a pattern that resembled hearts in the midst of splashes of water. I know these quilts will wrap this family in memories and love.
P.S. This is part of the note I received after I mailed the quilts. ” I couldn’t bring myself to open the boxes yesterday. Monday will be the two year anniversary of his death and I’m having a hard time. I opened them today and laid each one out on my bed. They are exquisite. Tears of joy and sadness. Thank you so much for bringing part of him back to me with wonderful memories.”
