The bright turquoise of the background fabric was the inspiration for the southwest designs as it reminded me of the clear blue skies of New Mexico.  I used a border to border tribal design in the center and showcased a southwest design in the big turquoise border.  Now that it is quilted in a southwest theme, I can’t imagine this quilt any other way.
