Some times the story of the quilt inspires the quilting.   When this quilt was brought to me, I was told that this was for the guest room where the cats sleep. The customer loved the idea of quilting cats on the quilt.   I used an earth tone variegated thread so that it would really stand out on the backing.  This quilt turned out to be the “cat’s meow”!
