When I first received this quilt, I was unsure how to handle the frames and sashing because it was all different fabrics and I knew custom quilting would get too chaotic. Then it came to me in a flash, treat it all as background. I used a southwest design and started the labor intensive task of masking out each kokopelli block and the result is absolutely stunning.
