Thailand Silk

Standard

I am always looking for ways to challenge myself with quilting.  Recently a customer brought me a bolt of silk and asked me to make a quilt.  Her father had brought the fabric back for his bride when he was stationed in Thailand years ago.  She had good intentions of using it to make an article of clothing but eventually gave the sentimental fabric to her daughter.  It was she that brought the fabric and wanted a quilt made to give back to her mother for Christmas.  I kept the silk whole and didn’t piece the top.  We chose an Asian Flower pantograph pattern for quilting and I used a variegated thread in shades of magenta.  The silk color is a lavendar gray and the binding a deep purple.
