Paducah Recap

Standard

Well, its been a while since I have blogged.  Only because there has been so many exciting events happening with Ideal Stitches.  I tend to blog a lot in my head while I am sewing and I wish it went directly to the Internet because then I would stand a better chance of staying caught up.

I came  home from Paducah totally inspired in all aspects of quilting.  Seeing the quilts on display was fabulous and I can’t wait to submit a quilt to be shown.  I spent time with both the editor of American Quilting magazine and the CEO of AQS Publishing.  I am seriously considering either writing articles for the magazine or writing quilt patterns to be published.   I was also part of a photo shoot for The Quilt Life magazine for the cover of the October 2013 issue and can’t wait to make my debut!

All of this means that I have to dedicate more time to blogging and writing.  To stay caught up with customer orders and quilt classes, I will need to figure out how to squeeze more time out of my day.  Stay tuned to find out how I plan to accomplish this!

The National Quilt Museum was one of the highlights of the trip.  We had an unlimited pass for the week were there and saw so many award-winning quilts up close and personal.       I am humbled by the amount of talent that I saw exhibited there.  One day one of my quilts will be hanging at the NQM.

I was able to meet many of the quilters that I have only seen in magazines, books and quilt shows.  It was great to find out they are real people with a love for the art of quilting.  I am in good company.  (smile)

Well, writing time is over.  It’s time to thread the needle and get busy quilting.  Stitch On and Keep Quilting!
