From a Crown Royal Bag to a queen size quilt!  I was commissioned by a  gentleman to take his 10 year collection of crown royal bags and make a quilt.  Some were black but most were purple.    I used a variation of a sunshine and shadow layout; note that the blocks ring the center embroidered crown alternating with a logo block and a plain block.  The backing was a deep purple fuzzy minke; perfect for showcasing the crown royal quilting pattern. He was thrilled when he picked up the finished product and admitted that he has continued  to save crown bags out of habit.   My tip was to sell them on Ebay or to friends to pay for the quilt!
