Cedar chest quilt tops can be very challenging to quilt. These are quilt tops that have been piece years ago. Inaccuracies in cutting and piecing were taken care of stitch by stitch during hand quilting. Often these quilts when put on the frame are not square or centers are not flat or borders are wavy or all of the above. Add bias cuts, template piecing, and irregular seam allowance and the issues compound. All that being said, I love taking an old top and turning it into a finished and usable quilt.
