This quilt was marvelous!  The pattern is an edge to edge called Pretty Posies chosen to reflect some of the motifs in the fabrics.  The thread was a cross between a grey and a moss green.  The fabrics on the top coordinate so well together, she has such an amazing color sense.  I loved working on this project and I am thinking that greens are my new favorite color.  (at least for this week)

My client was dismayed when I told her that the fabric for the back was not big enough. She had fallen in love with the print fabric and was assured at the quilt shop that it was big enough to do her quilt.  I told her that we could still use it and feature it on the back.  It would just take extra coordinating fabric on the sides to make up the difference.  I love the look because the quilting just pops on the solid fabric and yet she still has all of her feature fabric on the back.  So what was a design error became the success of the quilt!   I will let you in on a secret, that happens more often than not and that’s what makes Ideal Stitches quilts very unique and spectacular.
