I was able to deliver the secret quilt to my dear friend.  She had recently received some bad news and I wanted to gift her a custom quilt to wrap her in love.   The front is a scrappy tumbler pattern using the Accu-Quilt cutting system.  Scrappy quilts are so much fun to make and to look at with all sorts of different fabrics and no rules on matching colors or prints.

The back is a turquoise blue polar fleece.  When I was shopping for the backing, I couldn’t remember her favorite color and I didn’t want to tip her off by calling her to ask.  This color kept catching my eye and when I gave her the quilt, she reminded me that I knew her favorite color is blue.  Glad I listened to my instincts.

The quilting is a digital hockey design to celebrate her passion.  I offset the pattern and used a deep turquoise on front and back.  I had just the right cotton fabric in blue to do the binding.

Now I got to get busy and make a label.  I wanted her to have it and use it.  Plus this give me a great excuse to visit!
