These memory quilts were made from my sister in laws clothes after she passed away from a massive heart attack. Countless hours went into cutting the clothes apart, stabilizing the fabric, cutting and piecing the blocks for four memory quilts. She wore jeans all the time and I wanted to feature the denim fabric in the stars in each block. She was very active in the Rodeo Association and that comes out in the quilting design of horses and stars. The recipients were her husband and two daughters and I used each of their favorite color in the sashing. The extra quilt is done in green which was my sister in law, Phala’s favorite color. My brother in law wanted a quilt for the house and one for his travel trailer. From start to finish the entire project took six months. A lot of tears, memories and stitches went into each quilt.
