Fall Sky in New Mexico with Debbie Thornton

Debbie and Kelly at the Fair
Just got home from the New Mexico State Fair and found out that two of three quilts that I quilted and were entered in the fair won ribbons! Fantastic News for Ideal Stitches.
The balloon quilt is my own pattern and creation of how I envision the Fall Sky in New Mexico. It has machine embroidery, strip piecing, and paper piecing on the quilt top. The quilting was simple to represent floating through the sky.
The second quilt, Hanging Gardens, was quilted for a customer. Only the quilter would notice that they have it hanging upside down. (sigh). The quilt pattern was supposed to drape from top to bottom like the title of the quilt.
My congratulations to you! Those quilts are simply GORGEOUS! You do such beautiful work! I told Joan Thurman about you winning blue ribbons – she was happy for you too! Peggy Gammill
