This is the second of Sharon’s quilt tops that was an unexpected find in her sewing room.  I have been wanting to make a fractured quilt top for some time and this desert landscape is an amazing rendition of that technique.   I couldn’t decide how to quilt it, maybe because it was the last quilt of Sharon’s that I would get to put my needle to; or maybe because the quilt top created a challenging design dilemma.   But then I was inspired by the background on the media screen at church to use this fractured all over pattern.  I would like to think it was a connection with Sharon.
